Welcome to the team: Software Engineer for Databases in Counterparty Risk (m/f/diverse)

In Commerzbank Counterparty Risk Cluster we provide efficient risk management for Counterparty Risk from Derivatives and Financing business. We utilize modern agile working methods to maximize our output for the costumer business. Our larger team is split into two cells in Frankfurt and one in Prague, which all collaborate to develop applications used by the entire bank.

Currently we are looking for skilled and motivated software engineers to strengthen our growing team in Prague.  You would be joining a flexible environment with possibility of participating on several challenging projects.

Your tasks Develop the application landscape of counterparty risk. Work in an agile development environment (BizDevOps). Work with 100% in-house development systems (mainly Java & SQL DBs on LINUX and some running in Cloud). Support team’s iterative move towards new technologies. Implement the concepts and associated automated tests and create technical documentation. Ensure a high quality of the supplied software. Your profile

Technical:

Very good understanding of databases, database design, SQL, Unix Scripting, ETL, data warehouses, OOAD. Good software engineering knowledge and conceptual thinking. Knowledge of design patterns, new architectures, cloud computing and architectures, design patterns, best programming practices, enterprise patterns. Preferable basic knowledge in Elastic Search/Kibana, Java/ Hibernate, Python or R or Scripting, Flyway, Kafka, NoSQL DBs, Apache NIFI, Cloud computing basics, Built-Pipelines/Jenkins/ Ansible, Linux.

Personal

University degree (MSc preferred) in: Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, etc. 2+ years of professional IT experience in database development. Highly motivated team player. Very good communication skills in English – both written and spoken. Understanding basic German would be an advantage. Preferable basic knowledge of investment banking products (options, swaps, etc.) and risk processes (credit and/or market risk) or financial engineering/CFA.
